I ran out the door fast after realizing I didn't have a lot of gas. I had my breakfast in my car, the usual, whole-wheat english muffin with peanut butter and a few bites of banana.
I met up with Ryan, she was the first one there. Jen got there next and the three of us got our bibs and hopped on the carousel for a quick ride. It was very magical.
The race was going to start any minute so we had to rush to the starting line. I was able to keep up with Daniella and Ryan for a lot longer than I thought. But I wasn't afraid of them going ahead because I was worried about my time, not my place. We took a half of a lap around the park then a full lap around the park. I was so confused, I hate running in circles. Although I should mention, the beach was a gorgeous view. But finally, we got out of the park like I expected which was mile 2 and the beginning of mile 3. There were mile markers with a person screaming out your time. I did not like that because at the mile 2 marker, when I planned on walking, I swear I heard four or forty by the time caller and got upset. I needed to beat 39:39! So I ran, no walking at all in this 5K which is a huge achievement for myself, especially after having a difficult time sleeping the night before.
I am so proud of this 5K, it was my happiest race yet. I could not have been happier with my performance...and the costumes looked great! I was Buzz Lightyear, Bri was Woody, Daniella was Jessie, Kate was Buttercup the Unicorn, Ryan was Bo Peep, and Jen was Sid the neighbor of Andy. Shout out to Kate & Ryan on their first 5K races! I think we all have a lot to be proud of.

Do I really have to choose just 1 Toy Story quote? No way!
"I'm sorry, honey, but you know... toys don't last forever." -Andy's Mom to Andy in Toy Story 2
Toys might not last forever but our sisterhood and friendship will last a lifetime!
"Ride like the wind, Bullseye." -Woody
We sure ran like the wind!
