You probably think I lost my mind trying to combine two huge vacation days into one blog post. Those two days involve traveling, the Princess Half expo, Magic Kingdom, eating at Cinderella's Castle, running the Royal Family 5K, and spending the day of my half birthday in downtown Disney.
Needless to say, it was a jam-packed weekend! We'll start with the travel, waking up so early for a 6 am flight from New York was great practice for the two races. The flight was smooth and easy; I actually even got some sleep. I love JetBlue because they have TV's in every seat. So I enjoyed The Today Show hosting from Miami while I was awake.
We got in and planned on taking the Magical Express right to the expo. It worked out great. The lines at the expo were terrible, but with a race that size, I couldn't say I was surprised. I missed seeing many things at the expo but I was so happy to meet Ali Vincent, get the free commemorative card, and buy the bubble gum pink 'I Did It!' shirt.
After the expo, the first 4 members of the dream team, Brandie, Bri, Carolyn, and Daniella headed to our hotel. There we met up with 3 more members, Leilannie and Elsbeth.
We were decked out in matching shirts and headed to Magic Kingdom. We went on so many rides and saw so many shows. Our night ended with a magical dinner at Cinderella's Castle. There, we met 5 Princesses-Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Jasmine, and Snow White. We all got to make a wish in the wishes ceremony. Of course, all of our wishes were to do well/finish the half.
Nighttime came and went as I got ready for the Royal Family 5K with Daniella, Elsbeth, and Brandie. It was great practice for the half. I got to get used to running at Disney, in crazy humidity. I was nervous because I was genuinely tired after the 5K, I couldn't imagine running that plus 10 miles the following day.
So I showered and I enjoyed the day at Downtown Disney! My goal was to attend the RAD meet up but I couldn't find the restaurant. When they said Margarita Bar, I had no clue the place was actually called that so I sat at a Mexican restaurant for a while then knew something was wrong. I continued shopping until I met up with Leilannie and Ryan, they had just came from the expo.
Overall it was a fun day! But I had to get to sleep early-we started laying down at 7 pm because our alarm was set for 2:20 am that morning.
To be continued....
Note: 5K was a fun run, meaning it was not timed
