Happy New Year, welcome to my blog in 2013! I was very excited for this race because it was the first step to get the jacket at the completion at the Shoreline Road Race Series. I absolutely want the jacket and want to complete the series, but I was not going to sit at home and knit on New Years Eve. So I drank and ate whatever I wanted. As you can imagine, not the ideal fuel for a race. But I was confident that I could run 3 miles with my eyes shut.
Well, truth be told, I shouldn't have been so confident. It was a slow 3 miles, lots of walking breaks. I felt like I was surrounded by old people. But I made sure I crossed that finish line. The next Shoreline Road Races Series race isn't until the end of March, after the Princess Half Marathon. I am hopeful that I'll be ready in February and rock the half marathon and the second race in the series.
