The morning felt so early because Molly's birthday dinner was at Mohegan Sun the night before. I left my house at 8 am with Katie, for a 10 am road race--a little crazy but it is better to be early than late. We had to wait in the car because it was so cold. The first few miles were frigid, I remember wishing I wore two pairs of socks. I took it very very slow on purpose so I could just enjoy the time with my cousin, Jodie. I lost Jodie in the beginning but found her at mile 2.5! For the weather, I am proud of what we did. There were a few minutes that I thought to myself, Mother Nature does not want us to finish because the wind was pushing against us so hard.
I knew exactly what I was getting into. I love this race. I could see myself running this race for a very long time because I love my family's Thanksgiving tradition. Nothing says Thanksgiving like having a beer at 11 am with my Uncle Duke. :)
